Fresh hydrangeas in Calgary, delivered the same day — with no cut-off time. Order a hydrangea arrangement at 10am or at 7pm and it still goes out today, seven days a week, for a flat $15 across the city. Most Calgary florists close ordering between 11:30 and 2:30; we don’t.
Hydrangeas are the florist’s answer to “make it look generous”. A few oversized heads fill a vase the way two dozen smaller stems can’t, which is why they carry our wedding and sympathy work and why they read as expensive on a desk or a hallway table. We stock them in white, blue, purple and the soft antique greens, and pair them with garden roses, ranunculus and eucalyptus when a bouquet needs both volume and detail.
Caring for them: hydrangeas drink through their petals as well as their stems. Re-cut on a sharp angle, keep the vase properly full rather than half full, and if the heads ever droop, submerge them in cool water for twenty minutes — they usually come back. Kept that way they hold five to seven days.
